Updated GIS information. Accuracy Information (for those who want it):
Method: MAP INTERPOLATION - Kenai Peninsula Borough Tax Parcels Map 1999
Scale of Source: approximately 1:24,000
Datum: Nad27
Accuracy: Approx 500 meters (some may be better but I wouldn't claim better accuracy without seeing the physical site files and double-checking to see if the locations were on the correct tax parcel) |

Contaminated sites staff met with Ron Rozak (Rozak Engineering) regarding the Thompson's Soldotna Gas Station. Mr. Rozak oversaw the removal of the two UST systems, and encountered approximately 25 cubic yards of contaminated soil during removal activities. The deepest contamination extended below the UST systems was approximately 7 feet. Contaminated soils were bioremediated and approval was granted to use the soils that were excavated from the tank excavation as a topping coat for the alley immediately behind the facility. |

Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other |
Reviewed the Site Assesssment Report for Closure of UST Facility ID #1172 Thompson's Soldotna Gas Station, dated July 29, 2010, from Rozak Engineering, The results of the Site Assessment Report during the removal the two underground storage tanks associated piping and dispenser indicates that the upper 12 feet of soil located in the former underground storage tank area, and the associated piping and dispenser areas has been remediated to below the soil cleanup levels. All the excavated soil has been properly bio-remediated and used as a topping coat for the alley immediately behind the facility. The site conditions demonstrated within the Site Assessment Report for Closure indicates that this site will be considered for a Corrective Action Complete Determination following ADEC’s review of the information submitted to date. |
