6/4/1993 Underground Storage Tank Site Characterization or Assessment SA1; Thomas received tank closure/SA report done by Gilfilian. Two 5000 gallon and one 2000 gallon gas tanks, and one 5000 gallon diesel tank removed. Approx. 800 cubic yards of contam. soil removed during excavation. Confirmation samples in pit bottom indicate up to 5000 ppm VPH in vicinity of tanks 1 and 2. Gilfilain estimated 30 yards of contaminated soil remaining insitu. Depth of contaminated vadose zone not established. GW not encountered, believed to be at 27 fbg. Proposal for stockpiled soils to remain on site w/passive piping manifold to passively treat over two years. Gilifilian suggests NFA for tank pit. Former Staff
7/1/1993 Leaking Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Initiated - Petroleum LCAU; Thomas reports: 800 yards of contaminated soils stockpiled on-site and awaiting treatment selection. Former Staff
7/30/1993 Release Investigation RELR; Thomas reviewed and found satisfactory a Site Assessment/Tank Closure report. Agreed with recommedation to remove add. 30 yards of soil so long as vertical limits of plume could be identified. Will wait to hear from owner what is next. Soils to be passively treated on-site. 6/6/1994 Update or Other Action CORR; Wingerter sent letter informing RP of their financial liability under new ADEC cost recovery policy. State is authorized, under Section 9003(h) of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act to take action on this LUST facility. Former Staff
6/29/1994 Update or Other Action RPL2; Peterson sent PRP-CS Database Notification letter to RP requesting update and more environmental information concerning contaminated site. RP/Stan responded with question about 30 yds of soil put back in ground and that he would be sending info soon. Former Staff
