2/17/2004 Update or Other Action Nothing in file since 1994 UST removal assessment. Sent letter requesting information on assessment conducted since 1994. If none, Phase II release investigation is now required to assess current soil & GW contaminant levels. Donald Seagren
7/14/2004 Update or Other Action Phone call with Earl Hubbard - Trident Re; Project status, missing reports, etc. Will re-send reports/file. After ADEC receipt and review, a decision will be made as to the next steps to be taken. Donald Seagren
9/23/2004 Update or Other Action Copied entire file and sent letter requiring written response, within 30 days, on action to be taken by Trident to address outstanding contamination issues. Donald Seagren
12/1/2004 Underground Storage Tank Site Characterization or Assessment Sent letter requiring Phase II Site Assessment to determine full horizontal and vertical extent of remaining contamination. ADOT&PF reuested sampling of a drinking water well within 500 feet of the site to be included in the assessment. If previous reports and data can be located that provide satisfactory data on residual contamination, then the additional assessment will not be required or can be scaled back. Donald Seagren
12/14/2004 Update or Other Action File number 2569.26.007 assigned and entered into the Fileroom database, and Leaking Underground Storage Tank database. Alyce Hughey
10/13/2005 Update or Other Action Met with Earl Hubbard of Trident Seafoods to discuss site status and develop strategy for site closure. A consultant will be hired by Trident to develop a work plan for site assessment to determine current site conditions. Donald Seagren
3/21/2006 Update or Other Action Reviewed the site file. Sent Trident Seafoods and ADOT&PF an e-mail inquiring on the status of the Phase II SA work plan for 2006 Donald Seagren
6/6/2006 Underground Storage Tank Site Characterization or Assessment ADEC received a May 10, 2006, Workplan for Planned Exploration, from Rory Galloway who is a consultant with G-Logics, Inc. Reviewed work plan for additional site assessment. Provided comments for inclusion in final work plan that included: site map, minimum of 2 GW samples from test pits and sampling public DW well. Coordinated with ADOT&PF and will await their comments prior to approving work plan. Work to be done the end of June 2006. Donald Seagren
6/13/2006 Underground Storage Tank Site Characterization or Assessment On June 13, 2006, ADEC received an e-mail with an attached, Revised Workplan for Planned Exploration from G-Logics, dated June 8, 2006. Approved work plan to update site assessment and determine current site conditions. Information will be used to either close site or determine what additional corrective action work is required. Donald Seagren
3/14/2007 Exposure Tracking Model Ranking Donald Seagren
9/6/2007 Underground Storage Tank Site Characterization or Assessment Reviewed assessment report and coordinated review with ADOT&PF. Soil contamination remains at depths greater than 10' bgs. Lacking GW data to make a decision. Will wait until receiving ADOT&PF comments before responding to Trident. Donald Seagren
10/2/2007 Update or Other Action Sent email requiring additional data on GW flow direction, downgradient receptors and GW sampling data prior to making a site management decision. Coordinated with ADOT. Donald Seagren
6/17/2008 Update or Other Action Site transferred from Don Seagren to Paul Horwath per Linda Nuechterlein. Alyce Hughey
12/7/2010 Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other Reviewed the Soil and Groundwater Sampling Report, dated September 26, 2010, from G-Logics. To further characterize the presence and/or extent of subsurface contamination for the site, four soil borings were advanced and developed into groundwater monitoring wells. The soil boring sample results indicated that GRO, Benzene, Toluene and Ethylbenzene soil contamination remains in the subsurface at nine feet below the ground surface from the soil boring taken just south of the former UST location. The groundwater samples taken from this soil boring indicated that GRO, DRO, Benzene and Total Lead groundwater contamination remains in the groundwater. EDB and EDC were not detected in the groundwater sample taken within this monitoring well. The results of the drinking/potable water well survey indicated one onsite drinking water well approximately 50 to 60 feet south of Trident Airport Building and approximately 650 feet south of the contaminated monitoring well. This drinking water well is currently not being used as a drinking water source. Alyce Hughey
7/22/2011 Site Characterization Workplan Approved Reviewed and approved the G-Logics, Inc.'s July 20, 2011 Groundwater Sampling Workplan. Paul Horwath
12/21/2011 Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other Reviewed the Groundwater Sampling Report, dated October 25, 2011, from G-Logics. On August 15, 2011 the four existing groundwater monitoring wells and the one supply well was sampled. Only monitoring well GL-4 located just south of the former UST location detected Benzene above the groundwater cleanup levels at 0.0327 mg/L. The other three monitoring wells and the supply well did not detect any of the analytes in the samples taken. The groundwater was flowing towards the south at depths of 6.06 to 6.74 feet below ground surface. A drinking/potable water well survey was conducted within 1,000 feet of the former UST location, and none were discovered. The area businesses were also contacted and confirmed that all the business do not have potable water supply wells and that all potable water is brought into the offices from an offsite source. Alyce Hughey
4/26/2012 Cleanup Complete Determination Issued The cleanup actions to date have served to excavate and adequately reduce contaminant concentrations at this site. Contamination remains on site in subsurface soil and groundwater above established default cleanup levels; however ADEC has determined there is no unacceptable risk to human health or the environment. The most current soil sample analytical data reported GRO, DRO, benzene, toluene and ethylbenzene contaminations exceeding the applicable soil cleanup levels, within the former underground storage tank location. Any proposal to excavate, transport, move, treat, and/or dispose of residual contaminated soil at this “site” requires prior ADEC approval. Off site public water service is provided to this property. Water wells may not be installed on this property without the prior notification and approval of ADEC. All groundwater monitoring wells associated with this project must now be properly decommissioned in accordance with ADEC’s November 2011 Monitoring Well Guidance. The unused water supply well located south of the Trident Seafoods Building should be also be properly decommissioned in accordance with Alaska Drinking Water regulations. Peter Campbell
4/26/2012 Institutional Control Record Established Institutional Controls established and entered into the database. Peter Campbell
4/26/2012 Exposure Tracking Model Ranking A new updated ranking with ETM has been completed for source area 77747 UST Removal. Peter Campbell
12/19/2012 Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other Reviewed the Well Decommissioning Report, dated November 29, 2012 from G-Logics. On October 16, 2012 the four groundwater monitoring wells (GL-1 through GL-4) and the unused water supply well was decommissioned in place. Alyce Hughey
