Problems/Comments
During the removal of one 6,000 gallon Jet A Underground Storage Tank (UST #1) on May 7, 1996, concentrations of DRO 8,650 ppm, GRO 9,310 ppm, BTEX 894.0 ppm, & Benzene 114.0 ppm was encountered. Approximately 75 gallons of fuel was released from a hole in the tank. Fuel leaks from pipe joints was also found. Approximately 58-67 cubic yards of contaminated soil was excavated and thermally treated at Alaska Soil Recycling. No groundwater contamination. Updated 6-23-06 Alyce Hughey.
