9/7/2004 Update or Other Action On 07 July 2004, Bush met with Holiday representative Bruce Anthony; Williams Express representative Terrie Blackburn; and Shannon & Wilson representatives Matt Hemry, Ben Heaver, and Tim Terry. The topic of discussions was plans for future activities at all former Williams Express Stations. Lynne Bush
9/8/2004 Update or Other Action Holiday will be assuming responsibility for investigative and remediation activities at all former Williams Express Stores, but legal responsibility is divided by store. Holiday has renumbered their stores as: 5001=601; 5002=602; 5005=605; 5005=605; 5006=606; 5007=607; 5008=608; 5010=610; 5014=614; 5016=616; 5018=618; 5024=624; 5025=625; 5030=630; 5031=631; 5050=650. While Holiday will oversee the work at the former Williams’ stations, these sites remain the responsibility of Williams. The numbers of these sites remain the same: 5003; 5004; 5009; 5012; 5015; 5017; 5021; and 5034. Lynne Bush
12/1/2004 Update or Other Action Discussed site conditions with a potential purchaser of this property. Review of the latest report (April monitoring event) indicates an overall diminishing trend of contamination across the site, with anomalous increasing trends in off-site well MW-6. The sparging/vapor extraction remediation system has been inoperative since 2001 with no obvious negative repercussions. Natural attenuation is the current remedial option with continued monitoring. If the anomalous contaminant trend persists in MW-6, re-evaluation of the monitoring well locations is the more likely alternative than returning the remediation system to service. Lynne Bush

9/18/2007 Long Term Monitoring Complete The groundwater monitoring requirement outlined in the Conditional Closure decision has been removed. Groundwater monitoring will no longer be required, and all monitoirng wells will be decommissioned. Bill O'Connell

4/24/2009 Update or Other Action Receipt of Monitoring Well Decommissioning at Williams Express Station 5017. On September 26, 2008 MW-1 and VES-7 were decommissioned. DP-1 could not be located as there is a new building with a concrete floor (effectively capping) the location of DP-1. Keather McLoone

This site has a groundwater use restriction so the periodic review frequency was reduced to every three years. The September 2016 ICs Reminder letter was returned as undeliverable. 11/17/2021 Update or Other Action DEC sent a letter to the current landowner who is planning to sell the property to describe the regulatory status of the site. A buried heating oil tank is also present on the property. No spill or releases have been reported for this tank. Janice Wiegers

Description Details
Advance approval required to transport soil or groundwater off-site. Standard condition.
Movement or use of contaminated material (including on site) in a manner that results in a violation of the water quality standards is prohibited (18 AAC 70) Standard condition.
Excavation / Soil Movement Restrictions In the event soil excavation occurs in the area of the building where elevated levels of contamination were left in the ground, ADEC shall be notified prior to excavation.
Groundwater Use Restrictions Groundwater wells will not be installed on this property without prior approval from ADEC.
Periodic Review ADEC will conduct a review of site condition every three years.
