ADEC received the Addendum to Monitoring Well Installation, Water Sampling and Release Investigation Report June 1996. On June 28, 1993, additional contaminated soil was excavated from the 1992 waste oil UST excavation and transported to the MOA landfill. Three confirmation soil samples collected from the west, north, east sidewalls and the floor of the excavation were below ADEC cleanup levels. One soil sample collected from the south sidewall contained TCE up to 0.018 mg/kg. |

Site Characterization Report Approved |
ADEC received the Monitoring Well Installation, Water Sampling Release Investigation submitted by Terrasat and dated June 1996. In 1995, three monitoring wells were completed as: MW-4, MW-5, and MW-6 and groundwater samples were collected. MW-4 contained TCE at 4.7 ug/L and PCE at 99 ug/L. MW-5 contained TCE at 5.3 ug/L and PCE at 23 ug/L. MW-6 contained TCE at 9.9 ug/L and PCE at 55 ug/L. Groundwater was encountered 8 to 10 feet bgs and flowed to the SE. |

ADEC received the Status Report for C.R. Lewis Co., Inc. Facility #1432 submitted by Terrasat and dated November 3, 1998. The report documents the two groundwater monitoring events in 1998. Monitoring wells MW-5 and MW-6 sampled on 4/30/98 contained TCE at 5.3 ug/L and 7.4 ug/L respectively and PCE at 40 ug/L and 52 ug/L respectively (note: MW-4 was inaccessible at the time). All three Monitoring wells MW- 4, MW-5, and MW-6 were sampled 7/9/98. MW-4 contained TCE at 4.7 ug/L and PCE at 97 ug/L. MW-5 contained TCE at 6.9 ug/L and PCE at 42 ug/L. MW-6 contained TCE at 7.8 ug/L and PCE at 53 ug/L. |

Remedial Investigation Alaska Railroad corporation Anchorage Terminal Reserve U.S. EPA Docket No. CERCLA 10-2004-0065, submitted by ENSR. Groundwater Area 9 investigation encompasses the former C.R. Lewis lease. Groundwater samples taken from the center of the plume in 2005 and 2006 indicate PCE contamination up to 0.0263mg/L and TCE contamination up to 0.014 mg/L . Soil samples taken from the center of plume at 5 to 7 feet bgs, indicate PCE contamination up to 0.0743 mg/kg and TCE contamination up to 0.129 mg/kg. TCE shallow gas sample collected 6' bgs contained 139.73 ug/m^3. Downgradient wells indicate contaminants are not migrating toward Ship Creek and the plume appears to be stable.
