3/23/2001 Record of Decision Cleanup Decision signed. Approximately 30 cubic yards of DRO contaminated soil was excavated and later placed in a treatment cell constructed on the property during October 1996. A nutrient mix of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium was added to enhance microbe activity and four-inch diameter perforated pipe wrapped in geotextile fabric was installed for passive airflow venting. Laboratory analysis of soil sampled during October 2000 demonstrated that the treated soil met the applicable cleanup level for DRO. Scott Pexton
3/23/2001 Site Closure Approved Letter sent to Bob Edwards of Alaska Communication Systems with approval of the Stockpile Sampling report and indicating that the site meets the applicable cleanup levels for soil and groundwater. The treated soil may be spread on the ground in a non-environmentally sensitive area of the property. The monitoring well must be decommissioned. Scott Pexton
