Underground Storage Tank Site Characterization or Assessment |
Site Assessment received for work completed in July 1997. Three 12,000-gallon regulated gasoline tanks and two pump islands were removed from this facility in 1997. Approximately 400 cubic yards of contaminated soil were excavated and stockpiled near a gravel pit on Picket Place. Confirmation soil samples were collected from the base of the tanks and the pump islands. Groundwater was encountered at approximately 14 feet bgs. Samples were analyzed for GRO, BTEX and lead (4). The only contaminant that was above ADEC cleanup levels was benzene. Levels of benzene ranged up to 3.03 mg/Kg. |
