Problems/Comments

LUST Trust #89-3-5-0-292-1. This site involved two USTs that were found to be leaking. The first UST was a 1,000-gallon used oil UST that was located north of the DOT Bldg. and one 1,000-gallon heating oil UST which was located north of the Main Bldg. Former staff assigned R. 12/20/2006 Exposure Tracking Model Ranking File review indicated that two confirmed sources were present at this site. One source was the waste oil tank that was removed in 89. BTEX, TPH, and limited halogenated solvents were tested in the soil during the tank removal. Metals were not tested and no groundwater samples were collected. Chloroform remained in the soil above the migration to groundwater cleanup levels. The second source was a heating oil tank that was removed in 1996. Contamination was left in place at approximatley 6 feet bgs. Only DRO was tested in the soil. No groundwater samples were collected. Janice Wiegers
12/21/2006 Institutional Control Record Established The conditions of the closure include the following: 1. A copy of this conditional closure letter shall be noted on the ADEC database and incorporated into the ARRC lease file to ensure any future operator of the site is notified of the conditions and subject to compliance with them. 2. In accordance with 18 AAC 78.274(b), ADEC approval must be obtained prior to transport and/or disposal of soil or groundwater from this site. 3.
