Action Information

Action Date Action Description DEC Staff
9/28/1990 Update or Other Action REM; During the excavation of two USTs (10,000 gallon unleaded and 5,000 gallon diesel) 50 - 60 cubic yards of contaminated soil was removed and the hole filled with clean fill. One single groundwater sample revealed high levels of contamination: benzene 1700 ppb, toluene 29,000 ppb, ethyl benzene 2300 ppb, xylene 30,000 ppm. Groundwater in the area moves to the north and therefore it is unlikely that any wells in the area will be effected. Possibility that the plume extends under the Parks Highway and towards the Nenana River. Former Staff
