6/28/1994 Leaking Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Initiated - Petroleum LCAU; Thomas conceptually approved CAP for Hillstop. Shannon & Wilson propose a 150-yard landspreading operation on 1/2 acre of land behind truckstop. No water source nearby and ground water is deep. Cleanup goals expected to be achieved in one summer. S&W will submit final plan. Remaining soil contamination is bound in fractured schist and may not be recoverable. Former Staff

5/20/1996 Leaking Underground Storage Tank Corrective Action Underway LCAR; Landspread soils sampled 8/8/95 for GRO/BTEX. One questionable result found. Sample reanalyzed for DRO/RRO.DRO=440 ppm &RRO=410 RPCON proposes cleanup level C. DEC rejects, accepts initial level of B. Parking lot subjected to drips of oil/fuel, could be far greater than 440 ppm, disposal on parking lot approved. Former Staff
