Problems/Comments

A 500-gallon diesel underground storage tank was removed from the Federal Aviation Administration Chandalar Lake non-directional beacon (NDB) facility in 1994. Approximately 12 cubic yards of petroleum contaminated soil was removed and stockpiled on-site. See FAA Chandalar Lake Facility, file number 702.38.001/hazard ID 4351 for additional information. Also known as NDB UST 8-B-1.

5/15/2020 Cleanup Complete Determination Issued On 5/15/2020, a Cleanup Complete determination was issued for the FAA Chandalar Lake NDB Site UST. In 1994, a 500-gallon UST (8-B-1) was removed at the NDB. Confirmation samples collected in 1994, as well as subsequent sampling events did not yield contamination above the applicable DEC cleanup levels. Jamie McKellar
