Problems/Comments
Gas and Diesel contaminated soil was detected in 1997 and 1998 in the immediate vicinity of the UST systems. Some soil was excavated in 1997 and hauled to an ADEC approved soil treatment facility in Anchorage. An in-situ soil vapor extraction treatment system was installed and operated. Groundwater contamination was not detected above ADEC cleanup levels. In 2005, the UST systems were decommissioned and replaced with new UST systems. Additional soil contamination was excavated and transferred to an ADEC approved soil treatment facility in Anchorage. In August 2006, ADEC received the 2005 September Underground Storage Tank Closure Site Assessment Final (Revised) report, and based on the information provided in that report, the site was determined to be eligible for site closure.
