Problems/Comments
Site first received contaminated soil for stockpiling approximately 7/24/91. Petroleum contaminated soil stockpiled at Northern Timber Corp. gravel pit at 4.6 mile Alaska Hwy. Has comingled soil from 3 Haines service station cleanups: Bigfoot Auto; Mountain Market (formerly K&J Auto); and Second Ave Auto (now under a new name). Soil volume from Mountain Market is the predominant volume (Bigfoot 367 cy; MM 1680 cy; 2nd Ave 35 cy). Several iterations of remediation at NTC site have allegedly taken place according to the NTC owner - consiting of a)one screeing the soil (aeration) and b) several relocations of the stockpiled soil, creating more aearation.Farnell was last staff assigned.
Lat/Long selected are located on the Southeast Road Builders property (formerly Northern Timber Corporation) and do not represent the exact location of the stockpile.
