Problems/Comments

Nabesna Slough is accessed by way of the west end of the Northway Airport runway. The north half is on land owned by the State of Alaska, the southern half on private land owned by Northway Natives Inc. The area is approximately 1.5 miles in the north-south direction and 100-200 feet wide in the east-west direction. Area residents report that numerous drums were washed into the slough when the Nabesna River flooded the airport area in 1944.
