1/22/1999 Leaking Underground Storage Tank Release Confirmed - Petroleum LUST Site created in CSP for source area ID 78007 Former Staff
1/22/1999 Site Added to Database Former Staff
8/21/2002 Update or Other Action RECKEY has automatically been generated. Cynthia Pring-Ham
5/6/2008 Exposure Tracking Model Ranking There is a low potential exposure to subsurface soil of indoor air inhalation, all other pathways are incomplete. This site could probably receive a cleanup complete status if subsurface soil data was collected to verify that only low levels of contamination remain. Kim DeRuyter
5/6/2008 Leaking Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Initiated - Petroleum According to notes in the file, a 1,000 gallon tank 32-A-001 was removed from the VORTAC in June 1997. Contaminated soil was removed, but DRO up to 5,600 remained near the building foundation. A 500 gallon unleaded gasoline UST 32-B-001 was removed from the RCAG. 5 CY of soil was removed. No analytical data is mentioned though PID readings were below 50 and the soil at the bottom of the excavation was not noticably contaminated. A 500 gallon gasoline tank 32-C-001 was excavated from the NDB PID readings were below 20. Soil from all 3 excavations was thermally remediated in Fairbanks. A perched groundwater table exists above a clay layer at 20' bgs. Former monitoring wells at this site recharged very slowly. The drinking water wells is estimated at 250' bgs. Kim DeRuyter
11/21/2012 Underground Storage Tank Site Characterization or Assessment review of the ADEC file and the database these were determined to be eligible for a cleanup complete determination. Tank 32-A-001 at the VORTAC had a maximum detection of 5600 mg/kg DRO when it was decommisioned. Tank 32-B-001 did not have any DRO detected after the removal of 1/3 cubic yard of impacted soil. These levels are below the human health levels. Debra Caillouet
11/21/2012 Cleanup Complete Determination Issued review of the ADEC file and the database these were determined to be eligible for a cleanup complete determination. Tank 32-A-001 at the VORTAC had a maximum detection of 5600 mg/kg DRO when it was decommisioned. Tank 32-B-001 did not have any DRO detected after the removal of 1/3 cubic yard of impacted soil.
