Problems/Comments

Orignial entry: Little in file. 8/8/96 report of contaminated soil. No SA, no CN, no Post-C, no FacID.May be a LUST Site. Above Level A. Two tanks were removed on 7/30/96: a 2,000 gallon heating oil tank next to the visitor center and a 1,000 gallon diesel fuel generator tank next to a generator shack approximately 250 feet northeast of the visitor center. Diesel-contaminated soil was documented in confirmation samples at both locations. Two other heating oil spills have been reported near the visitor center. A surface water intake was located uphill from the facility. Depth to groundwater is unknown but is expected to be greater than 50 feet. Excavation at the heating oil tank locaton occurred in 1996, 2005, and 2006. Some residual contamination remains.
