Release Investigation |
Release Investigation conducted. Five monitor wells installed. Benzene concentrations exceeded in soil from MW6. PCE concentrations exceeded in soils from MW5, MW6 and MW7. TCE concentration also exceeded in soil from MW6. Benzene contamination in groundwater exceeds ADEC GCL in MW2, MW5, and MW6. No detectable levels of TCE or PCE found in GW. Historic property use conducted. Tudor Laundromat and Dry Cleaners formerly located on site. Tesoro states 'Tesoro Alaska Company, which has operated a retail fueling station on this site, should not be responsible for further investigaiton regarding the presence of TCE and PCE'. |

Tesoro working with ADEC water quality staff to obtain a dewatering permit to lower GW table for purposes of intalling a new UST system. In reviewing the file, ADEC project manager notes that historically, PCE and TCE contamination has been documented at the site in soils and GW above ADEC cleanup levels. Convey concerns to water quality staff regarding possibility of PCE and TCE GW generated during dewatering activities. |
