Problems/Comments
The facility consists of seven uncontained aboveground storage tanks (ASTs), six are fenced. The tank farm was relocated to its current location in 2000 during an addition to the school building. The former location was to the east. Reportedly, the tank farm will be replaced by a consolidated facility. A total of two soil samples were collected. One soil sample collected on the western edge of the tank farm, at 1 foot below ground surface (bgs), contained 5,300 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) diesel range organics (DRO), 537 mg/kg gasoline range organics (GRO), and 0.0201 mg/kg benzene. The second soil sample, collected on the north edge of the tank farm at 1 foot bgs, contained 271 mg/kg DRO; the detection limit for benzene on this sample was more than twice the cleanup level; toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes were also detected below cleanup levels.
