Problems/Comments

The FAA Pleasant Island Former Fan Marker was in operation between 1943 and 1964. All structures had been removed from the site, but an initial site visit in 2005 identified scattered debris, a fuel pipeline, creosote pilings, rusted drums, and an asbestos-sheathed lead cable remaining on site. In August of 2009, FAA mobilized for removal of remaining debris and contamination. Actions specific to the four source areas are summarized in each source area. ADEC issued a Cleanup Complete determination on October 31, 2011 for all known sources on Pleasant Island.
