Problems/Comments
In the mid-to-late 2000s, ADEC received a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment for the property located at 1302 Well Street in Fairbanks. Soil borings and monitoring wells were installed during the Phase II. A composite soil sample from two borings had detections of tetrachloroethylene (PCE) of 0.138 mg/kg below the current (2018) Table B1 cleanup levels of 0.19 mg.kg. Groundwater samples from MW-3 and MW-4 contained PCE at 43 and 54 ug/L, in exceedance of the current (2018) Table C cleanup level of 41 ug/L. MW-6 contained diesel range organics (DRO) at 2.17 ug/L, above the current cleanup level of 1.5 ug/L. Groundwater samples also contained detectable amounts of dichloroethylene (DCE) and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE).
