8/25/2009 | Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other | ADEC received Limited Phase II Environmental Site Assessment, 110 Bartel Avenue, Kodiak, Alaska, submitted by Shannon & Wilson, dated July 22, 2009. The area is suspected to contain areas of fill from an unknown source. Four test pits were advanced, TP1-TP4, in areas that were suspected of fill material, to a depth of 4.5 ft. bgs(@ TP4)to 9.5 ft. bgs( @ TP1)depending on where the groundwater interface was encountered. Soil samples were collected at 2 ft. intervals. An analytical soil sample was collected from each test pit from the location of the highest pid reading. A soil sample collected from TP3 at a depth of 2 to 3 ft. bgs contained DRO up to 268 mg/kg. A soil sample collected from TP1 at a depth of 4 to 5.5 ft. bgs contained arsenic up to 12.1 mg/kg and chromium up to 30.4 mg/kg. Note: the benzene reporting limit for samples TP3 and TP4 were greater than the ADEC cleanup level of 0.025 mg/kg. | Grant Lidren |
