10/27/2009 | Site Added to Database | A new site has been added to the database | Deborah Williams |
10/28/2009 | Final Cleanup Report Reviewed | Reviewed Delta State 2 Corrective Action Report. Characterization data was minimal at this site prior to corrective action, so the gravel pad was removed in stages, the gravel stockpiled based on field screening, and sampled prior to any reuse determination. Based on DRO concentrations, five stockpiles were classified as conditional use (DRO < 500 mg/kg), two stockpiles were classified as restricted use (DRO <2,000 mg/kg but > 500 mg/kg) and the rest of the stockpiles were classified as clean. Potrions of the restricted- and conditional-use gravels were used to backfill the reserve pit with the excess transported to the DS4 G&I facility for injection. Six areas of the pad were determined to be impacted by fuel contamination through field screening or stockpile sampling. At area C1D, contaminated soil was left in place with DRO concentrations up to 7,280 mg/kg and GRO up to 978 mg/kg, after the maximum 1.5 foot excavation depth was reached. At area D1, excavation proceeded to 1 -1.5 feet gelow tudra grade (btg)and confirmation samples did not contain contaminants above cleanup levels. At area D5/D6/D9, excavation was conducted to 0.5 feet btg and confirmation samples did not contain contaminants above cleanup levels. At area D8/D12, excavation was conducted to the maximum 1.5 feet btg depth and confirmation soil samples contained GRO up to 383 mg/kg. At area D15, DRO up to 2,130 mg/kg was left in place after excavation reached the maximum 1.5 foot depth btg. At area D18, excavation stopped at the pad/tundra interface and sampling indicated contaminant concentrations were below cleanup levels. | Bill O'Connell |

12/14/2009 | Cleanup Complete Determination Issued | The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, Contaminated Sites Program (ADEC) has completed a review of the environmental records associated with ConocoPhillips Delta State 2 site located east of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Based on the information provided to date, it has been determined that the contaminant concentrations remaining on site do not pose an unacceptable risk to human health or the environment. No further remedial action will be required as long as the site is in compliance with established institutional controls (ICs). | Bill O'Connell |
12/14/2009 | Institutional Control Record Established | Institutional Controls established and entered into the database. | Bill O'Connell |

5/12/2014 | Update or Other Action | Date of original receipt of Rehabilitation of the Delta State No. Exploratory Well Site, 2013 Progress Report - Final. With the exception of the former gravel pad area, all site components exceed the numerical checkpoints for at least 10 percent TLVC and at least 15 percent total biological cover. 90 percent of the overburden substrate was submerged in the formal gravel pad area. | Keather McLoone |
12/4/2014 | Update or Other Action | Staff name changed from IC Unit to McLoone | Evonne Reese |
9/28/2016 | Update or Other Action | At this time, the project manager chooses to retain management of this site which has institutional controls. | IC Unit |
