Problems/Comments
Petroleum released from an aboveground storage tank. Analysis of surface soil samples indicated the presence of diesel range organics up to 17,500 mg/kg and residual range organics up to 20,900 mg/kg. Surface area of the spill is fairly small, approximately 5x5', however the depth and subsurface extent has not been evaluated. The site is located in a very remote location with access only by riverboat or helicopter or hiking across several mountains. The site lies within a parcel of State-selected land; BLM hopes to transfer the land to the State once it has been cleaned up.
