Problems/Comments
The Kalakaket Creek RRS Class III Municipal Landfill is located in the former upper camp area, approximately 0.8 miles northwest of the western end of the airstrip. The Class III Municipal Landfill, also known as the Clean Sweep Landfill, was created during the 2009 Clean Sweep activities. It covers approximately 0.88 acres and contains 2,765 cubic yards of construction and demolition debris and other buried materials, as well as soil contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), with concentrations up to 10 mg/kg.
