Problems/Comments

In September 2009 a 500-gallon unregistered underground gasoline tank was removed from the property at 1952 Ada Street. Soil samples were analyzed for gasoline range organics (GRO) and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) and none of the results were detected above cleanup levels. Groundwater samples were collected and analyzed for GRO, BTEX, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and lead. Benzene, ethylbenzene, xylenes, naphthalene, and GRO were detected above current DEC cleanup levels in groundwater. Additional monitoring wells were installed up- and down- gradient of the source area, samples from these wells were collected and analyzed for GRO and BTEX and no results were detected above DEC cleanup levels.
