7/3/2010 | Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other | (Backdated Action) Reviewed Ouzinkie Airport Site Sampling Plan. Soil staining was observed on the gravel floor of the snow removal equipment building (SREB) and PID screening samples indicated the presence of hydrocarbon contamination. Impacted soil will be excavated from the floor of the SREB, stockpiled on a liner and covered until a disposal method can be determined. | Bill O'Connell |
7/25/2010 | Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other | (Backdated Action) Reviewed Ouzinkie Airport SREB Soils Remediation Report. Approximately 45 cubic yards of hydrocarbon impacted material was removed from the SREB floor to a depth of approximately 1-2 feet and three confirmation samples were collected. Soils were stockpiled on a liner. Confirmation samples contained DRO above the migration to groundwater cleanup level in 1 of the 3 samples at 1,770 mg/kg . Arsenic and chromium were also detected above cleanup levels, but within the expected range of background concentrations. Impacted soil removed from the floor of the SREB was placed into a cell on geotech fabric within the restricted area of the airport and covered with clean fill. The cell is located approximately 200 feet south of the runway centerline at Station 46 | Bill O'Connell |
