Problems/Comments

In 2009, during a drainage ditch sampling effort for the ARRC - Broad Pass Railroad Station (HAZID 22938), a previously unknown 500-gallon diesel heating oil underground storage tank (UST) was discovered. The UST was found to be partially open and submerged with water. In 2010, the UST was purged of water and removed from the site. Three soil samples collected 6 inches below the former UST, at 3.75 ft. bgs, contained benzene up to 0.387 mg/kg. The excavation was then backfilled with stockpiled soils and clean fill to bring to grade.
