1999 RI – 2 test pits were excavated and 1 surface soil location was sampled to investigate potential sources of contamination. 1 soil samples was collected in the first test pit (located near run-off water and soil sample collected in 94). The 2nd pit was located near the roadway, with 1 soil sample being collected. No odor or staining was present in either test pit. A soil sample was also collected 70 feet northwest of TP02 and analyzed for GRO, DRO, RRO, metals, pesticides, PCBs, and SVOCs. Arsenic was detected at 22 mg/kg and 19.8 mg/kg in soil samples. The pesticide 4, 4’-DDT was detected at 0.0082 mg/kg. Both concentrations were below regulatory limits; the arsenic concentration was within regional background concentrations. |

Update or Other Action |
2011 Decision Document- No fuel or hazardous substances were found at concentrations above applicable cleanup levels, Site DA021 requires no further action under state law and will be designated Cleanup Complete. However, the presence of solid waste has been documented at this site. Removal of solid waste at the site would cost an estimated $15 million and is not warranted. ICs will be put in place to document the location and boundaries of the disposal site and limit future activities that could expose buried wastes, or cause the potential spread of contaminants or placement of solid waste in environmentally sensitive areas. |
