Problems/Comments
Federal Aviation Administration Air Route Surveillance Radar (ARSR-AOC-03). In 1993, a PA/SI was conducted and observed a small soil stain at the base of the metal Radar tower. Remaining contamination is above current cleanup levels. Sampling conducted during the PA/SI detected levels of TRPH above ADEC cleanup standards.(ECIR, AUTHOR: E&E, DATE: 05/01/1993). In 1996, an ESI was conducted and approximately 0.1 cu. yd of contaminated soil was removed. The excavated soil was placed in a one-cu. yd supersack with removed soil from the Building 300 ARSR and VOR facilities and temporarily stored at Building 300. The supersack was subsequently transported to Alaska Soil Recycling (ASR) in Anchorage for thermal treatment in FY97. Confirmatory sampling still indicated the presence of RRO above ADEC Level B Cleanup Criteria (SCIR, AUTHOR: ENSR. Inc., DATE: 10/01/1996).
