Problems/Comments
On 6/18/2011 an abandoned 200-gallon underground heating oil tank was removed from Lot 6 Block 95 of Fairbanks Townsite, at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College campus. Petroleum-contaminated soil was confirmed in subsurface soil. Diesel range (DRO), gasoline range (GRO), and residual range organics (RRO) remained in soil after initial excavation activities, but only DRO was above DEC cleanup levels.
