Problems/Comments
Quarters Building 104 formerly utilized a 1,200-gallon UST that supplied heating oil for the building furnace. UST 28-G-4 was decommissioned in FY98, and approximately 50 cubic yards of contaminated soil were excavated. A FY99 RI detected DRO, GRO, and BTEX (excluding xylenes) above ADEC cleanup standards in soil samples in the vicinity of the UST excavation. Groundwater was sampled northeast of the Building 104, which is hydraulically downgradient of the decommissioned UST, and benzene, GRO, and DRO were detected above ADEC cleanup standards. 2010 SI found DRO at 15,000 mg/kg, GRO 2200 mg/kg 2-methylnaphthalene 54 mg/kg and 1-methylnaphthalene 40 mg/kg at 15' bgs. Groundwater not impacted.
