Problems/Comments

Three 850-gallon heating oil ASTs (28-G-10, 11, 12) were excavated, drained, cleaned, cut up, and sent to an off-site landfill on 10/8/95. In sum, approximately 20 gallons of diesel sludge from all three ASTs were removed and disposed of off site at Alaska Pollution Controls in Palmer, Alaska. Two cubic yards of diesel-contaminated soil were removed from the concrete containment pit that contained the fuel piping .Leaks at the fuel pipe fittings and overfills are the likely sources of contamination. The 2010 SI found DRO remaining in soil of 9100 mg/kg at 12' bgs. Groundwater does not appear impacted.
