Problems/Comments

A 1,000-gallon gasoline tank, a 1,000-gallon diesel tank, and their associated piping and dispensers were removed on June 22, 1991 without conducting the required site assessment. On May 27, 2011 four soil borings were sampled to assess the locations of the former tank systems. The only soil sample that exceeded default cleanup levels was 0.118 mg/kg benzene near groundwater at 15 feet below ground surface. In July 2011 two monitoring wells were installed and soil and groundwater samples were collected. One monitoring well was placed 9.2 feet down gradient of the soil sample that exceeded cleanup levels in May 2011, the other monitoring well was installed about 60 feet up gradient of that location. All soil and groundwater samples met default cleanup levels. There appears to be only deminimus benzene soil contamination at 15 feet below ground surface at one location. On August 19, 2011 the two monitoring wells we decommissioned. A corrective action complete letter issued on August 23, 2011.
