Problems/Comments

On November 2, 2011, Alaska Petroleum inadvertently delivered fuel to an underground heating oil tank no longer in use, located at the Steese Mall. Approximately 260 gallons of heating oil were released into the building's crawl space through the old boiler supply lines. Initial response actions removed approximately 20 cubic yards of contaminated soil, but excavation was limited due to the proximity of the building foundation.
