Five test pits were excavated and soil samples were collected at one foot intervals for field screening with a PID. Analytical samples contained DRO up to 771 mg/kg. Only samples from Test Pit 1 contained DRO above the gravel pad cleanup level of 500 mg/kg. Test Pit 1 was excavated in an area formerly used to fuel vehicles. An inspection of the off pad tundra nearest the impacted area did not indicate the presence of hydrocarbon contamination in surface water or sediment. | Bill O'Connell |
