Site Characterization Workplan Approved |
Staff reviewed and conditionally approved of Alta Geosciences, Inc.’s “Well Installation and Groundwater Sampling Work Plan, KUA Jewel Lake Site, ADEC File No. 2100.38.047”, dated July 20, 2012. Alta proposes to install two groundwater monitoring wells on the Lot 12B-2 north of the 2012 Soil Remediation Area. During well installation, soil samples with the highest field screening headspace reading will be collected and analyzed for VOCs according to CSP approved methods. Once the wells are installed, developed, and purged, groundwater samples will be collected and analyzed for VOCs in accordance with CSP approved methods.
Staff approved of work plan provided an additional monitoring well is installed south of the 2012 soil remediation area. This monitoring well shall be sampled for VOC’s along with the two other newly installed monitoring wells. Groundwater flow is to the south in this area and thus, CSP would like to determine if a chlorinated solvent plume is migrating south off the property. |
