Problems/Comments
It is believed the gasoline spill source was largely cleaned up before encountering the old historic contamination. The Bunker C pipeline spill did not result in any significant contamination. There has been no observed sheen emanating from the shoreline directly down gradient in over 5 years.
Action Information
Action Date | Action | Description | DEC Staff |
---|---|---|---|
1/29/2013 | Spill Transferred from Prevention Preparedness and Response Program | Spill transferred by PERP staff John Brown. Spill no. 11259904701; spill date = 2/16/11; substance = gasoline; quantity = ~500 gallons; source = pipeline #4. | Mitzi Read |
2/6/2013 | Site Added to Database | A new site has been added to the database | Mitzi Read |
2/7/2013 | Exposure Tracking Model Ranking | Initial ranking with ETM completed for source area id: 79395 name: Pipeline #4 Gasoline Release / Historic Diesel & Heavy Oil | Mitzi Read |
9/13/2013 | Update or Other Action | Delta Western reported a 6" diameter underground pipepline near the approach to the fuel dock was accidentally broken during a utility line excavation project. Thick, heavy, dark black petroluem oozed from the pipeline. DEC requested further information on the location, depth, response actions taken and any known or suspected residual contamination. | John Halverson |
12/17/2013 | Potentially Responsible Party/State Interest Letter | Letter sent to two parties. | Bill Janes |
11/3/2016 | Update or Other Action | Site transferred to Holly Weiss-Racine. Site history indicates that no action on the 500 gallon gasoline fuel spill site was conducted after the 2011 fuel-impacted soil investigation and excavation. It also appears no responses were received to the 12/17/13 responsible party letters sent by ADEC to Delta Western regarding the broken 6" diameter (possibly bunker C) fuel line damaged in 2013. ADEC will prepare a letter requesting Delta Western take action on both issues. | Holly Weiss-Racine |
