Problems/Comments
On August 13, 2013 a single truck accident occurred at approximately mile post 134.5 on the Denali Highway resulting in a discharge of 260 gallons of ultra low sulfur #1 diesel fuel being released to the ground along the shoulder and drainage area of the road. After initial response efforts laboratory analyses indicates that contaminants remain in soil above DEC cleanup levels. Contaminants were detected in groundwater but were below DEC cleanup levels. Excavation was limited in order to maintain the structural integrity of the road bed.
