Problems/Comments
In June, 2011 a 5,000-gallon diesel underground storage tank (UST #1) was removed from the Fairbanks North Star Borough Noel Wien Public Library as part of tank site assessment and closure activities. Laboratory confirmation samples from the limits of the excavation indicated diesel range organics, benzo(a)anthracene and benzo[a]pyrene remain in subsurface soil above ADEC cleanup levels.
