Problems/Comments
Multiple areas of concern between mile 13 and 14 Copper River Highway are littered with military bunkers, caches of unmarked 55 gallon drums, used batteries, appliances, and building materials. The Eyak Corporation and The Native Village of Eyak submitted a DEC Brownfield Assessment and Cleanup (DBAC) request in 2013 to assess and cleanup contamination at the site; the applicants are concerned that subsistence resources gathered in the target area could be harmful to the residents.
