Problems/Comments
In February 2014 lead was detected in soil below the Eklutna River bridge in Chugiak, which is slated for demolition and replacement in 2015. It is suspected that the lead in soil (up to 3,240 mg/kg) is the result of the weathering of the lead based paint coating the bridge. The property is not currently in residential or commercial use.

Samples collected prior to bridge demolition contained an average of 224.5 mg/kg in soil, and samples collected after bridge demolition contained an average of 102.5 mg/kg in soil.
