Problems/Comments

In July 2014 two regulated underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the Splash & Dash Car Wash. Tank #1 (Owner ID 2&3) was a 12,000-gallon gasoline and diesel tank. Tank #2 (Owner ID 1) was a 12,000-gallon gasoline tank. Both tanks were co-located northeast of the car wash building at the east end of the dispenser island. Excavated contaminated soil was stockpiled on site. Following removal activities, confirmation samples indicated petroleum-contaminated soil was present above DEC cleanup levels at the location of the tanks and at one of the dispenser islands (dispenser #2). Additionally, an unregulated 550-gallon diesel UST (Tank #3) was removed from the south side of the car wash building. No contaminants were detected above DEC cleanup levels.
