Problems/Comments
Two underground storage tanks (USTs) consisting of one 3,000-gallon gasoline tank (UST #5), and one 1,000-gallon diesel tank (UST #6) were closed and removed from the property on 2/9/2016. Both tanks were double-walled, cathodic protected steel with spill and overfill prevention. Field screening and analytical samples collected from the excavation, sidewalls, bases and stockpiles contained diesel range organics (DRO) above the ADEC cleanup level in one sample at the diesel dispenser at 394 mg/kg, as well as benzene in one sample at the gasoline dispenser at 0.0257 mg/kg. This soil was removed from the excavation and combined with the stockpile, which was then sampled, found non-detect and used as backfill.
