Problems/Comments
During the week of January 9, 2017, two 20,000-gallon dual-use diesel underground storage tanks (USTs #2 & #3) were removed from the Mount Edgecumbe Hospital property. Upon removal, the USTs were observed to be in good condition with no obvious signs of leakage. A single detection of diesel range organics was measured at 36.3 mg/kg, and toluene was detected in two sample locations up to 27 ug/kg. The concentrations of both analytes are well below DEC clean-up levels. All other analytes including gasoline range organics, benzene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes were non-detect at all sample locations.
