Problems/Comments

In January of 2014, snow fell off the roof of a residential mobile home and damaged the fuel line leading to an aboveground heating oil tank. Approximately 100 gallons of diesel were released to the ground and flowed beneath the mobile home. Free product and odors in the home were observed at the time of the spill. Impacted soil was excavated from under the residence on May 5, 2014, but excavation was limited due to structural concerns. Diesel range organics remain in soil above DEC cleanup levels. A heavy plastic sheet was placed over the contaminated soil in the crawlspace beneath the residence.
