Problems/Comments

Bermed storage area for hazardous waste approximately 17,100 square feet on the eastern part of the "Central Warehouse Complex" gravel pad (C-Pad). Isolated by a synthetic vertical barrier liner keyed into permafrost. Used only for storage of volumes less than 50 barrels. All waste was containerized. Site is located off east of Spine Road. Bordered by miscellaneous equipment storage to the east and south, heated storage modules to the west, and tundra to the north.

3/2/2007 Site Closure Approved ADEC received a letter from EPA Region 10 dated Feb. 27, 2007 which documents that clean closure requirements under RCRA for the EOA C-Pad Hazardous Waste Storage Unit (HWSU) have been completed to the satisfaction of the EPA. EPA concludes that closure of the EOA C Pad HWSU has been completed in accordance with the approved closure plan. However, this Closure Certification does not constitue an approval of the RA submitted with the May 13, 2005 Closure Certificaiton. Linda Nuechterlein
