Problems/Comments

Low pressure in the heating system of building 2205 and Eielson Air Force Base was first identified on 5/2/17. After testing and investigation a leaking pipe was found in the closet wall of dormitory room 111. It was determined that approximately 300 gallons of a 60% ethylene glycol and 40% water solution had soaked into the drywall, insulation, and carpet, and had migrated down a construction joint in the cement floor and is now beneath the building. The piping was repaired and contaminated building materials were drummed and sent to the Eielson Air Force Base hazardous waste facility.
