Cleanup Complete Determination Issued |
The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, Contaminated Sites Program (DEC) has completed a review of the environmental records associated with the Yakutat Air Force Base (AFB) Hospital Loop Area of Concern (AOC) E3 site. Based on the information provided to date, it has been determined that the contaminant concentrations remaining onsite do not pose an unacceptable risk to human health or the environment and no further remedial action will be required unless information becomes available that indicates residual contaminants may pose an unacceptable risk. Soil and groundwater contamination at the site have been cleaned up to concentrations below approved cleanup levels suitable for residential land use. One diesel range organic (DRO) result remaining exceeds the migration to groundwater cleanup level but no contamination above groundwater cleanup levels was ever detected. All other contaminants of concern (COCs) are below applicable cleanup levels at the site. |
