Problems/Comments
In 2018, the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) Former Mountain View Substation received a Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment through MOA's EPA Brownfields Areawide grant. The property was previously used as an electrical substation from approximately 1962-1990, while the equipment stayed on site until at least 2011 after its decommissioning. The Phase II did not confirm contamination was present above ADEC cleanup levels in soil, groundwater, or soil gas, however several analytes from each media had detection limits above ADEC cleanup levels, therefore the presence of contamination below ADEC cleanup levels cannot be confirmed at this time. The site will be tracked in Informational status as it received Brownfields funding.
